Jovia Kisaakye is a Ugandan biotechnology innovator, circular economy entrepreneur, and Founder of Ecobed Biotech. Ecobed pioneers the transformation of spoiled milk and other food waste into useful products, including mosquito-repellent skincare solutions, sustainable fuel additives, and biodegradable packaging materials, demonstrating how overlooked waste streams can become drivers of environmental and economic transformation. 

Beyond biotechnology, Jovia is leading the development of climate-smart value chains that empower smallholder farmers through digital innovation, sustainable markets, and resource efficiency. Her vision is to position Africa as a global leader in circular bioeconomy solutions that address climate change while creating jobs and strengthening local industries.

Jovia’s work has received international recognition, including awards from UNCTAD, the Commonwealth, the Tony Elumelu Foundation, and other global entrepreneurship programmes. She has also served as a climate advocate with the African Union Youth Reference Committee and the International Organization for Migration (IOM), championing youth-led innovation and sustainable development across Africa.
