Gloria Serobe

Distinguished for her remarkable achievements in the business world, Gloria Serobe stands as a trailblazer in the field of comprehensive economic empowerment for women. Her journey involves constructing initiatives from their very foundations, as she passionately collaborates with women from diverse backgrounds, to pave the way for heightened women’s economic engagement. Her work has been recognised through  accolades, such as the Impumelelo Top 300 Award in 2003,  the ABSIP Pioneer of Empowerment Award  in 2004 and winner of the business category of the 2005 Top Women in Business and Government. And, in 2006, she was awarded the Businesswoman of the Year Award in the corporate category as well as the African Woman Chartered Accountants Woman of Substance Award and was selected as a finalist in the SA Chapter of the Ernst & Young World Entrepreneur Award.

She is a Founding Member and Executive Director of WIPHOLD and Chief Executive Officer of Wipcapital. She serves on several boards of directors, and is also an honorary member of the Actuarial Society of South Africa and serves on the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) Advisory Council.

In March 2020, President Ramaphosa appointed her to lead the Solidarity Fund which was crucial in helping South Africa confront the daunting economic downturn caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
