Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu is the 15th Governor of Lagos State, Nigeria. He began his career in the private sector, spending more than a decade in banking before moving into public service. His public-service record includes helping establish the Lagos State Security Trust Fund Board, analysing government revenues to inform policy, and contributing to the development of Lagos State’s economic development strategy. It is also to Sanwo-Olu’s credit that the Lagos Asset Management Limited (LAGBUS) was established, which worked to strengthen public transportation across the state.

As governor, Sanwo-Olu has pursued his development agenda through Project T.H.E.M.E.S+, focusing on Traffic Management and Transportation; Health and Environment; Education and Technology; Making Lagos a 21st Century Economy; Entertainment and Tourism; Security and Governance, with an added focus on social inclusion, gender equality and youth development.

He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Training and Development and an alumnus of Harvard Kennedy School, London Business School and Lagos Business School. Known for his people-centred approach, he has built his career around the idea that effective public service should improve everyday life for the people of Lagos.
